C'est au sud-ouest de Nefta, perdu dans l'immensité de la vaste plaine saline de 5 000km2 que représente le Chott El-Jérid, que se dresse la petite construction en forme d'igloo représentant l'entrée de la ferme de Lars. Originellement construite en 1976 pour le film Star Wars Episode IV et disparue depuis, elle fût rebâtie à l'identique et au même endroit pour l'Episode II. Endroit isolé et magique, l'impression de se retrouver sur la planète Tatooine est vraiment totale quant au bord du cratère, on laisse son esprit vagabonder face au désert qui semble infini à l'horizon.
In the southwest of Nafta, lost in the immensity of the vast saline plain of 5 000km2 that represents the Chott El Jerid, stands the small igloo-shaped building representing the entrance to the farm Lars. Originally built in 1976 for the film Star Wars Episode IV and disappeared since, the construction was rebuilt in the same place for Episode II. Secluded and magical, the feeling to be on the planet Tatooine is really realistic when, on the edge of the crater, we let her mind wander in the desert that seems to extend endlessly to horizon. |

Depuis ma visite en 2004, la construction c'était hélas gravement détériorée… Mais grâce à l'audace et à l'abnégation d'une poignée de fans venus du monde entier, une restauration totale a été effectuée en mai 2012 afin de préserver l'édifice. Une telle initiative doit être vraiment saluée, car sans eux, il ne subsisterait probablement plus grand chose du petit décor de plâtre et de bois aujourd'hui.
Since my visit in 2004, the set was unfortunately seriously damaged... But thanks to the courage and selflessness of a handful of fans from around the world, a complete restoration was completed in May 2012 in order to preserve the building. Such an initiative must be congratulated, because without them, there would remain no many things of this small construction made of plaster and wood today. |
